ABOUT
ME

I became what I would call "an expert on grief " on May 17, 2013, when my only son, Tyler, died suddenly in a car accident. At that point my life changed dramatically from being a successful corporate executive to a heartbroken, grieving mother. In honor of my beloved son, I wanted to use my pain for purpose and help others in grief.
Therefore, I became a certified Grief Educator, Grief Recovery Specialist and Life Coach. I also have taken advanced courses about trauma & the body-brain connection, and have been trained in somatic grief healing, breath work, meditation & grief yoga. Along with my private practice, I founded & facilitate a support group called Healing Hearts, designed for parents who have lost a child. I'm also a volunteer facilitator for a nationally-known support group called GriefShare. Because child loss or a sudden death are considered traumatic events, I feel it's essential for a grief coach to have a trauma-informed knowledge base when helping bereaved clients. This perspective provides the client with a better understanding of how loss can trigger unresolved emotional wounds & how to cope with the intense feelings of loss. As a result, clients find a deeper understanding of grief and how trauma can impact their life, as well as, their physical & emotional well-being.
